Emily has fourteen years of professional experience in corporate philanthropy, employee engagement and personal experience in nonprofit volunteerism. Her passion is connecting individuals to work together to impact communities.
Prior to starting Emily Vennerstrom Consulting, Emily worked at Medtronic, Pentair and UnitedHealth Group leading grant making portfolios and employee engagement programs. She focused on creating innovative programs that served communities, patients and employees. She played leadership roles on the teams responsible for ensuring philanthropic presence in key geographies around the world and activating hundreds of thousands of employees to support the causes they care about.
Emily has led the development and execution of strategic and employee led grant making initiatives, managing multimillion dollar grant budgets across global locations. She has led world class employee engagement programs, facilitating $55M in employee donations to 23,000 charities. She has directed and implemented global responses to natural disasters through development of policies, management of grant budgets, facilitation of high impact employee engagement offerings and cultivation of strong stakeholder partnerships.
Her personal philanthropic passion is supporting the world's most vulnerable populations through microfinance, education, women's empowerment, refugee resettlement and access to healthcare. Emily lives in the Minneapolis area with her husband, Andrew and their two daughters. She completed her Bachelor of Arts at Bethel University. As an amateur photographer and avid traveler, she loves experiencing new places and cultures.
